The curtains have come down for the final time. What happens now?
Participating in a production takes a lot of energy, concentration and expertise. Be kind to yourself and set the expectation in your mind that it may take you a good two weeks to get over the production both physically and emotionally once the show comes to an end.
It’s not uncommon for the group chats to fade and some may experience ‘post-show blues’.
Our top tips for combating this phenomenon are:
Allow yourself time to rest and relax
Get back to ‘real life’ - catch up on any assignments, chores, organise your life
Spend some extra time with family and friends
Reflect on what you've learned and gained from the experience
Reach out to your fellow cast and crew members
Always speak with your GP for professional advice if you are struggling emotionally or physically either during or post a production.
