There will be a number of dress rehearsals in the lead up to opening night. These also include ‘tech runs’ that give the production team a chance to set and test all of the lighting, sound and special effect equipment used in the show. These dress runs will likely feel a little rough and be quite tough - don’t worry - that’s the whole point of the in-theatre rehearsals to get used to the space, the timing and iron out any glitches prior to opening night.
It’s a good idea to run your costume changes for at least some of the dress rehearsals so you can start to get an idea of how much time you need to change and where you need to be and when. If you find a change is taking too long, you may need to change in the ‘quick change’ area (usually side stage) instead of going back to the dressing room. If it’s still not possible - ask for help and speak to the director who can make adjustments.
There may also be professional photographers and videographers at the dress rehearsals who will be taking photos and videos to be used for promotional purposes such as in the program.
