Learning lines can be daunting for some but is not something to be afraid of. The best thing you can do is start early. Allow yourself time to learn the script at your own pace and practising with supportive friends and colleagues can really speed up the process as well as make it more enjoyable.
Top Tips:
Allow plenty of time (don’t leave it until the last minute)
Practice with supportive friends, relatives and/or colleagues. Run lines or get them to quiz you - especially on ‘cue’ lines.
Write your lines out - by hand - do not type them
Get plenty of rest and focus on self-care
It is possible to make adjustments to the script based on your feedback. If there is anything that you aren't comfortable with, you don’t understand, don’t know what it means or have a suggestion to be changed please don’t hesitate to speak to the Director who can discuss it with you and authorise any changes to the script.
